Cameron Severson

Basketball
Petersburg High School

During his four year varsity basketball career at Petersburg High School, there weren’t many athletic and academic honors that escaped Cameron Severson. By the time he’d graduated in 2008 and scored 1,684 total points, Cameron had led PHS to three consecutive Region V – 3A titles and been on the Region All-Conference team for all three years. From 2006 to 2008 he was on the All-State Tournament team as well. In 2006, he was All-State 2nd team and in 2007 and 2008 received All-State 1st team honors. In 2007, he was also named 3A State Player of the Year and led his team to the State 3A Championship, the school’s 1st in 76 years!

As a student, in 2005 & 2006 his teams received State All-Academic awards and in 2008, Cameron was on the Region V All-Academic team.

Cameron attended college at Western Washington University where he lettered three years and played on their NCAA Division II National Championship Team in 2012 and on their Final Four Team in 2013. He was a team captain for two years and received the team’s Rich Baxter Hustle Award as well.

As a result of this student/athlete’s prowess, Cameron Severson joined a very short list of high school basketball players to win an Alaska State Championship as well as a National Championship!
